Other Helpful Tips:
We've gotten a lot of questions about stain removers and bleach alternatives. We've done some research and found one product that does both! Chances are, you already have it around the house: hydrogen peroxide!
Stain Remover: Pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide onto the stain, let it sit for a minute, rub it in, then wash. This works best for organic stains such as food, wine, and blood. For blood stains, pour hydrogen peroxide directly onto the spot, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse in cold water (hot water will set a blood stain). Repeat as necessary.
Bleach Alternative: Pour 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide in a load of whites in your washing machine.
Natural Fabric Softener: Pour 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar into your rinse cycle. White distilled vinegar prevents yellowing, acts as a fabric softener, and reduces static cling. The acid in white distilled vinegar is too mild to harm fabrics; and, it will not leave a scent on your wash. |
