What ingredients do you use to make your detergent?
We use sodium borate, sodium carbonate and grated laundry soap to make our powdered laundry soap. We do not add any fillers.
I don't see any suds in my washer. Did I use enough detergent?
Yes! Old Fashion Clean is a non-sudsing formula. What does this
mean? Commercial detergent makers add chemicals to your laundry
detergent to make suds in the wash. This was started quite some time
ago to let housewives know that they were using enough detergent. We
don't add any inactive or extraneous ingredients to our laundry soap,
so you shouldn't ever see suds with Old Fashion Clean.
What is the difference between laundry detergent and laundry soap?
Commercial
detergent makers add chemicals and fillers that are petroleum based to
laundry detergent. Laundry soaps are made from pure and natural
ingredients without fillers or petroleum based chemicals.
Is Old Fashion Clean safe to use on cloth diapers?
Yes, Old Fashion Clean is a clean rinsing formula that will leave your diapers smelling clean and fresh.
We recommend using the full 1 tablespoon of soap for your cloth diapers.
Do you allow other businesses to wholesale your product?
We

Is Old Fashion Clean safe for use with high-efficiency washers?
Yes, Old Fashion Clean is a non-sudsing formula and works wonderfully
in high-efficiency washers. Add 1/2 tablespoon of Laundry Soap in with
the clothes, not in the dispenser at the top.
Can I use fabric softener with Old Fashion Clean?
You can use commercial fabric softeners with Old Fashion Clean, but we don't recommend that you do. Commercial fabric softeners work by coating your laundry in chemicals, and as such we do not recommend their use. Read the warning label on the back of any commercial fabric softener or dryer sheets and see if you still want to use them.
Most
of our customers find that our laundry soap leaves their laundry
wonderfully soft. If you still would like your laundry to be a little
softer, try adding 1/4 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. Static
Cling... no problem, try adding our Wool Dryer Balls to your next load
in the dryer.
Why do you double bag some orders? Isn't this wasteful?
We make every effort to be lean in our packaging in order to reduce
waste, but through shipping many orders, we've found that the bags can
be damaged in transit very easily. In order to get your order to you
safely, we will often double-bag your items. It's our hope that you
will re-use or recycle the additional bag and that your order gets to
you complete.
Do you offer combined shipping?
Yes, we are happy to offer combined shipping on larger orders. We
have our cart set up to calculate shipping properly for most orders,
but please feel free to e-mail us for a personalized shipping quote on
large orders to ensure that shipping is calculated correctly.
Why does the box that my order came in have another company's name on it?
In order to reduce waste and resource consumption and keep our
costs low for our customers, we re-use boxes that our suppliers have
used to ship our orders to us.
I just used your laundry detergent for the first time and the water in my washer is dirty. Did I do something wrong?
No, you didn't do anything wrong. Our laundry soap is just doing its job right.
Many commercial laundry detergents and fabric softeners work by coating
your clothes in chemicals and fragrances in order to make them seem
clean. Old Fashion Clean strips away this residue and gets the dirt
and stains out of your clothes, which is why the first few washes your
water will look dirty.
How quickly can I get an order shipped?
Generally, orders ship within 2 days. If you're in a pinch and need your order shipped more quickly, send an e-mail to oldfashionclean@sbcglobal.net and we'll work to get your order out quickly.
Can I wash in cold water?
Absolutely! We wash exclusively with cold water with fabulous results.
What's the difference between regular and hypoallergenic?
Our regular formula is made with a soap that contains dyes and
fragrances, and as such, some people could potentially react to the dye
or fragrance. The chances are slim, but we recognize that many of our
customers would like to have an option that does not contain dyes or
scents.
Our hypoallergenic formula is made with an olive oil based soap.
What other products do I need to use with your detergent?
While using an oxygen cleaner or bleach will not cause a negative
reaction with our laundry soap, you generally do not need to add
anything to your wash in order to get great results. |
